>> OSCARS ✨ Highlight Of The Event: Respect Where It Is Due - This Performance Was Epic!

Hallo everyone,

Welcome back to the most versatile blog there is. As you probably know by now, we absolutely love creativity, magical things, music and talent. The opening performance at this years Oscars ceremony had it all. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande presented a Wicked-themed medley that culminated (brand new word for me I just looked up) in a duet of 'Defying Gravity.' I saw 'Wicked' in the theatre in London in 2023. It was quite good and I was moved by this song back then as well because it just is a great composition but the wizard was way too scary for the children in the audience - and me!! As for the movie, I didn't want to watch it at first, but I was overruled by the acquaintances I was with. I wanted to see the Muppet Christmas Carol! That is an essential classic - every Christmas. Then the cinema could not show it because of a technical error/its format being from the 90`s. So it was between Paddington Bear in Peru and Wicked in the end. And I think Gladiator 2 was on as well.

Here is a short review of the 'Wicked' movie: In my personal opinion, while the film had impressive visual effects, it lacked depth. To me, it felt like a long-form music video with sound bites of conversations here and there. The storyline in the musical offered more to build upon, so I couldn’t help but wonder why there were no deeper moments or meaningful conversations. Attention spans might be short these days, but we can not skip the connection part, which takes a bit of time and buildup, since we, the audience, as well as the filmmakers, are all human and this is never going to change. There is no shortcut to meaning. But back to this performance: Both singers brought amazing vocal abilities and kept their composure, in a room full of other talented people. I often think that over time, you learn how to deal with situations like this and they are both pros by now. It was magical, it was moving - an uplifting collaboration. I think it's great that anyone with eyes and ears can recognize true talent when they see it. It cuts through all the noise and all the imposters, revealing what truly stands out. Well done!! 🌌
